Edelweiss shines as lovely white-flowered Lavandin (Lavandula x intermedia). It is a mid-sized plant (3 x 3 ft) that normally blooms mid-summer through early fall. With a stem length of 18-24 inches Edelweiss is ideal for cut flowers, bouquets, and crafts. The flower buds emerge with a hint of blue, opening to snowy white flowers. Mixing white and purple lavenders in the garden produces an excellent contrast. 'Edelweiss' is strongly fragrant, making it an excellent source of dried flower stems and dried flowers for crafts. Prune back plants after the first flowers fade for another blooming period.
