Lavender Aromatic Hydrosol
Lavender Aromatic Hydrosol
Lavender Hydrosol, also known as Lavender Water, is the water-based byproduct from the steam distillation process we use to extract our essential oils. In steam distillation the lavender stems are placed in a column that sits above a pot of boiling water. The steam travels up into the column, through the stems and captures the oils released from the buds. As the steam cools back to a liquid there are two components: the essential oil from the plant, and the water based hydrosol which contains small particles of the lavender oil.
Lavender Hydrosol has a softer, gentler potency than the concentrated essential oil, but still provides the same benefits. Since Hydrosol is water based it is much more versatile to use.
